KidsChallenge at WORLDCDF

"The KidsChallenge is a dynamic and exciting dance project designed for children
who have a passion for dancing and a love for movement. "

"KidsChallenge for every child"

In this program, children get the opportunity to learn a variety of fun and easy choreographies, which can be practiced in a variety of settings—whether at home, in dance classes, sports clubs, or other similar environments. The children will then have the chance to showcase their newly learned dances by participating in a friendly and supportive competition.

Children naturally enjoy music and movement, and the KidsChallenge provides a fantastic way for them to explore both. The program fosters a strong sense of community, where kids can connect with others who share their enthusiasm for dancing. Additionally, they will experience the thrill of performing their dances in front of a large, encouraging audience.

THE COMPETITION

The competition format in the KidsChallenge is unique. Unlike many other dance competitions that are divided by age groups, this event is structured around three distinct challenges, each offering different levels of difficulty and types of dances. This format allows children to choose which challenge best suits their abilities and interests. With guidance from a parent or an adult, children can select the dance(s) they enjoy the most and feel confident in. It’s important to note that each child can only participate in one challenge, ensuring they can focus their efforts on mastering their chosen routine. Once they've made their decision, the children are registered for the appropriate challenge.

To guide the dancers through the competition, two experienced instructors will be present to provide support and encouragement on the floor, helping the children feel confident and motivated during their performances. The KidsChallenge is not just a competition; it’s an opportunity for children to grow, learn, and express themselves through the joy of dance!

"Every child is a winner"

The program is designed to celebrate each participant's unique journey and progress, not just their performance in the competition. It's not about who finishes first. it's about encouraging growth, building confidence, and fostering a love for dance. The true victory lies in the joy of learning, performing, and being part of a supportive community where every child shines.

However, there is still a scoring system in place.

Challenge 1: All children receive the 1st Place and get 3 stars for it.

Challenge 2 and 3: From a number of competitors of 6 children, the group will be divided into 3 groups after scoring. The best group wins 3 stars (1st place), the 2. group 2 stars (2nd. place), the 3rd group 1 star (3rd. place).

With a number of competitors of 5 and less children, the placements will be distributed 1-3.

Competition day

  • Upon arrival, the designated responsible adult and the child/children will check in at the registration desk.
  • Before the competition begins, the children will assemble in the staging area. Based on the number of registrations, they will be guided in either one or multiple groups to the dance floor.
  • Once on the floor, the children will perform the dances they’ve learned, dancing individually with other participants.
  • The music will be timed.
  • As a guideline, two dancers from our club will accompany them.
  • Our trained judges will assess their performance, though the emphasis will be on having fun.
  • After completing one dance, the children will leave the floor, accompanied back to the staging area to wait for their next performance (if they are dancing multiple routines).
  • The award ceremony will be approximately 30 minutes after the final competition round.
